Asset Tracking & Tamper-Evident Security Labeling
Technical guide for IT asset managers, OEM equipment builders, and quality assurance engineers. Compare rating plate polyesters (B-423, B-428), tamper-evident void security films (B-7546), and destructible tamper-proof vinyls (B-351).
Primary Asset & Security Material Families
Permanent Gloss White Polyester Rating Plates
Biaxially Oriented Polyester with Permanent Acrylic AdhesiveThe standard choice for durable asset identification, barcode inventory tracking, and OEM serial rating plates. Highly resistant to abrasion, industrial solvents, and temperature cycling.
Metallized Matte Silver Rating Plate Polyester
Thermal Printable Metallized Silver Film with Permanent AdhesiveReplaces expensive stamped aluminum or riveted metal plates with an elegant matte silver finish that withstands harsh factory oils and cleaning solvents.
Tamper-Evident "VOID" Footprint Polyester
Gloss White Security Film with Tamper-Indicating AdhesiveWhen removed or peeled, the label irreversibly separates, leaving a bold repeating "VOID" pattern on both the surface and the face of the label to prevent unauthorized warranty tampering.
Destructible Tamper-Proof Cast Vinyl
Ultra-Fragile White Vinyl with High-Tack Acrylic AdhesiveExtremely brittle cast vinyl film that fractures and breaks into tiny fragments if any attempt is made to peel or remove the label, making one-piece removal physically impossible.
Tamper-Evidence Mechanisms Explained
Uses a differential release coating between the adhesive and polyester face film. Removal breaks the chemical bond, permanently exposing a bright "VOID" message on the asset that cannot be smoothed back down.
The tensile strength of the cast vinyl face is lower than the bond strength of the aggressive acrylic adhesive. Any attempt to lift a corner causes the material to chip away like an eggshell.
