Installation Best Practices for 8 AWG Wire Wiring
- Wipe conductor jacket clean of cutting oils and lubricants with isopropyl alcohol.
- Align white printable zone parallel with wire axis, 1 to 2 inches from termination lug.
- Apply firm thumb pressure across the legend, then wrap the clear tail tightly around the 360° circumference.
- Ensure the clear laminate overlaps itself by at least 0.25" to seal against dirt and moisture.
- Slide sleeve over conductor prior to crimping ferrule or terminal lug.
- Position sleeve at desired mark location away from the stripped wire jacket edge.
- Set industrial heat gun between 120°C and 150°C (250°F to 300°F).
- Apply uniform rotational heat from center outward until sleeve recovers tightly without wrinkles.
